Mai Kisaragi has always been a timid and easily pushed-around person, letting others walk all over her. She harbors a crush on Takumi Kai, the star player of the school's basketball team. That might have been the whole story... if not for a bizarre twist. After putting up with endless mockery, she abruptly manifests a supernatural ability during basketball practice. Soon after, a fox spirit named Ran appears and tells her she is actually part fox spirit herself. At first, she refuses to believe it—until she physically changes into a fox.
