Despite Izumi Morino's easygoing personality as an illustrator, he struggles to secure steady work, making his life more complicated than it appears. His unofficial assistant from junior high, Kinoko, constantly manages his affairs with persistent nagging and requests. One morning, Kinoko discovers Izumi in bed with a doll—an adorable rag doll. Already humiliating, the situation worsens when Izumi, having no idea where the doll came from, is further stunned as it begins to speak, move, and mock him.
