Haruto Soma once had a passion for music, composing songs on his guitar and singing along. He moved from his hometown to Tokyo aiming for a music career, but his first attempt at a street performance left him deeply disheartened. Since then, he rarely touches his instrument, and when he does, the joy is gone. Still living in Tokyo, Haruto gets hit by a scooter one evening and is taken to the hospital because of the large amount of blood at the scene. Fortunately, he is discharged a few days later with no serious injuries; the only lingering effect is a strange fuzziness in his head. When Haruto returns home, he finds a stranger lounging comfortably on his living room floor. His first reaction is to wonder who this person is, but the stranger instead questions why Haruto can suddenly see him—since he wasn't able to perceive ghosts before!
