Daimon Kaito, a high school student obsessed with puzzles, receives a mysterious mobile device from the student council president. The device leads him to an ancient underground ruin beneath his school. Accompanied by his girlfriend, Nonoha, Kaito faces what is said to be an unsolvable puzzle within the ruins. They uncover it to be the treacherous "Puzzle of Sage," created by the malevolent organization known as "POG." Despite overcoming the challenge, this victory sets off a series of intense puzzle battles between Kaito and POG.
