On the isolated artificial island known as "Mermaid," built to house individuals with supernatural abilities, Tokonome Mamori finds herself in danger. Just as she is attacked, a new transfer student named Mirei steps in to shield her. Despite Mirei's intervention, the assailants continue their assault, backing both into a corner. At the most critical moment, Mirei kisses Mamori, which causes Mamori to transform into a sword. Mirei then wields that blade to fight back against their attackers.
