Yuka Katsuragi, a beautiful television reporter, has caught the unwanted attention of Yakuza thug Katsuji Yashima. He and his brother travel all the way to Spain to find her, but Yuka firmly rejects his advances. Then a massive earthquake strikes, causing Katsuji, his brother, Yuka, and four high school students on a school trip from Japan to all fall into a deep chasm. Trapped beneath the earth, they come across a mysterious elderly woman who delivers prophecies: the wealthy nation of Japan is doomed to share the fate of the once-prosperous city of Carthage. When Katsuji and the others mock her, she sends them to witness the world of the future firsthand—a future filled with ruin and death.
