Minato Akina, a charming and innocent young man, travels to Tokyo with hopes of attaining fame. Yet, his fortune quickly sours when he loses all his funds on his first day in the city. At this low point, he meets Chiba Rintarou, a person under financial strain, who offers Akina the chance to become an idol. Though this new direction brings promise, both Akina and Chiba carry heavy, painful recollections from their past that risk derailing their ambitions.
