In a world that has experienced many Dusks and is slowly heading toward its final end, a prosperous nation exists in the western part of the "Land of Dusk," thriving because of its mastery of alchemy. The people are committed to discovering and reviving lost alchemical technologies to delay the approaching "Dusk End." A city called "Central" serves as a center for alchemy research, where relics from past eras are gathered with the aim of stopping the advancing twilight. Our story focuses on two individuals: a young man educated in alchemy at Central and a girl from a remote frontier town. The girl, named Escha, uses her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others and is assigned to the Development Department. The young man, Logy, after learning the latest alchemical methods in Central, requests a transfer to the understaffed town to apply his skills. He is also placed in the Development Department, where he meets Escha. Together, they promise to combine their alchemical expertise to achieve success for their department.
