Haru no Noroi

Natsumi is still struggling with the grief of losing her younger sister, Haru, and carries a heavy secret—she is in a relationship with Tougo, who was once engaged to Haru. Though their previous arrangement lacked love, Natsumi knew that Haru had genuine feelings for him. When Tougo proposed they start dating, Natsumi accepted, but only on the condition that they retrace every place he and Haru had been together. Overcome with guilt, she continues meeting him regularly, reliving Haru's memories and listening to stories of their shared past. One day, after an especially painful goodbye, Natsumi, consumed by remorse, steps toward an approaching train, intending to join her sister in death. Tougo stops her, swearing he would follow her even into death. Beneath the shadow of this lingering spring curse, the two forge a transient summer bond, finding comfort in each other while still grieving the sister they both lost.

Background

Haru no Noroi ranked second in the 2017 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Female Readers division. The series was published in English as Haru's Curse by Kodansha USA under the Vertical Comics imprint as a 2-in-1 omnibus volume on February 16, 2021. It was also released in Polish by Studio JG from October 23, 2020, to December 29, 2020.
