Unlike his peers who spend their time drinking and visiting brothels, Gael Faris avoids such pursuits, focusing entirely on his dream of becoming a paladin. Despite repeatedly failing the paladin exam, he continues to carry out his knightly duties in Fastes. One day while on patrol, he saves an elf named Elcielas from a group of thieves. Thankful for his help, Elcielas asks Gael to accompany her on a journey to the capital to rescue the king. As they set out on this quest, the question remains whether Gael can maintain his purity along the way.
