Eighteen years prior, during the Seitei War, Kunishige Rokuhira was the most celebrated man in Japan. As a master bladesmith, he created six enchanted swords, each possessing a unique power that ensured the country's triumph. Following the war, Kunishige retreated to the mountains with his son Chihiro, who started earnestly studying the craft. As he approached his 15th birthday, the composed Chihiro decided he would eventually take over his father's work. Yet his plans were shattered when he saw a band of powerful sorcerers murder his father and seize the sacred blades. Three years after that event, Chihiro lives with hatred in his heart and a fierce thirst for vengeance. Wielding Enten—the seventh and final enchanted sword Kunishige forged in secret—Chihiro cuts down criminals linked to the Hishaku, the organization he holds responsible for his father's death. Chihiro has yet to unlock Enten's full power or master his sword skills, but he will stop at nothing to reclaim the stolen katanas, avenge his father, and uphold the legacy he left behind.

Kagurabachi ranked sixth in the 2024 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! in the Male Readers division. In the same year, it ranked first in the Best Printed Manga category at the 10th Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards. The manga was nominated for the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2025. The series has been simulpub digitally in English through MANGA Plus. The volumes have been published by VIZ Media under the Shonen Jump imprint since November 5, 2024. It has also been released in Italian by Edizioni Star Comics since March 18, 2025.
