Boku wa Mari no Naka

Isao Komori left his rural Gunma home for college in Tokyo, believing he could start over. However, months go by without him making a single friend. Despite his earnest efforts as a student, he drops out in his second year and becomes a recluse, spending his days playing video games. His only comfort is his daily trip to the local convenience store, where he watches "the angel of the convenience store"—a high school girl named Mari Yoshizaki. Content to admire her from afar without ever speaking to her, Isao is startled one day when she meets his gaze. The next thing he knows, he wakes up in Mari's body with no memory of what happened. Not knowing how he ended up inside her or where the real Mari has gone, Isao decides to live her life in her stead.

Background

Boku wa Mari no Naka was digitally simul-published in English as Inside Mari by Crunchyroll. The volumes were published digitally by Denpa from November 6, 2018 to March 10, 2020, and in print from November 21, 2018 to December 6, 2022. The series was adapted into a live-action TV series in 2017.
