In the desolate Earth of the late 22nd century, where relentless wars have depleted resources and basic necessities are regulated by the military, corporations, and elite officials, most individuals struggle to survive amidst widespread crime and destitution. Kotobuki, a reformed thief, embarks on a journey in pursuit of legitimate employment to distance herself from her unlawful past. Her path is shadowed by Raimon, a former military commander turned visionary who abandoned his career to follow his aspiration of being with Kotobuki. Their quest for a new beginning is complicated by the pursuit of "Tsubasa," a mythical apparatus rumored to fulfill any wish. Centuries ago, this device materialized, granted everyone's desires, then disappeared without a trace. Tsubasa wo Motsu Mono was published in English as Tsubasa: Those With Wings by Tokyopop as a 2-in-1 edition from March 17 to November 3, 2009. The Singaporean based publisher Chuang Yi Publishing has also published the title in English, though in standard tankoubon format.
