Five years have passed since the fourth prince of the kingdom vanished without a trace. An official announcement now declares that any boy caught using that name must be turned over to the authorities, sparking a search for anyone called Wolfgang. Wolfgang Goldenleonard knows exactly who he is, and he understands that the hunt for him continues. He is also aware that those seeking him intend to kill him. Since his mother's death, he has been in hiding, forming close ties with the street orphans. But when threats are made against those children, Wolfgang has no choice but to expose himself. Once his identity becomes public, he is brought to the palace of his brutal father. Inside the palace, Wolfgang clings to his hatred for the man who fathered him. He refuses to act like a proper Goldenleonard prince and deliberately breaks every rule he can. He is constantly reminded that he must never covet anything belonging to the king, yet his rebellious spirit and fiery temperament have already drawn the attention of the king's favorite catamite, Shin Soohyuk. Shin sees Wolfgang as a catalyst for change—the spark that might ignite the flames of rebellion. In exchange for a promise to set Shin free, Wolfgang agrees to become his pawn.
