Emma
エマ
Set at the dawn of the 20th century, Victorian England becomes the backdrop for a moving and heartfelt tale of romance between two people from vastly different social classes. A servant girl named Emma and the well-born aristocrat William Jones develop feelings for each other despite their prescribed roles in society. Their determined efforts to navigate the treacherous terrain of wealth, influence, and rigid tradition form the core of this emotionally charged story by Kaoru Mori. The strict societal hierarchies of the era and the critical upper class—including members of William's own family—try to separate the love-struck couple, condemning their relationship as a violation of proper behavior. Yet in spite of all attempts to resist their connection, William and Emma grow closer, and their affection proves stronger than the most severe censure. From the creator of the celebrated series Otoyomegatari, this passionate narrative follows two people who refuse to abandon their love. However, will the countless unexpected challenges that arise break apart William and Emma's bond, or will they ultimately find their desired happiness?
