Ruzo was selected for the once-every-10-year Knife Award, a top honor for chefs, but due to sabotage from the jealous fellow chef Tatsuzo, he was disgraced and committed suicide. Furthermore, Tatsuzo also causes the deaths of Tomezo's wife Ofuji, who was pregnant with child, and his disciple Otomatsu. Omino, Ruzo's only remaining daughter, sacrifices her happiness and risks her life to to take revenge on Tatsuzo by becoming a chef herself. <BR><BR>
