Serena is the main character. She married Eiser so that he would be able to manage the hotel she inherited from her grandmother, as she herself had not learnt business. Their marriage is not a happy one, and her affair with Frederick is widely known among the public. She is described to have long wavy black hair which she straightens because she likes it better when her hair is straightened.
