To You in the Beyond Drops Main Trailer, Cast Wave & Theme Song

Weeks after its first overseas screening at Anime Expo, the team behind To You in the Beyond has rolled out a full-court promo push. The official site posted the main trailer, a sweeping new key visual, and a fresh wave of voice talent as the film marches toward its October 9 Japan theatrical bow.

Joining the ensemble are Sumire Uesaka as class leader Tamaki Mishima, Wataru Hatano as easygoing dormmate Shuuji Aiba, Nobuhiko Okamoto as blunt roommate Akimitsu Yano, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as prickly classmate Yoshiki Suka. Singer-songwriter Tota—already tied to the project’s insert track—takes the theme song slot with the newly unveiled “Olive,” which threads through the trailer’s quiet-to-storm arc.

Junichi Wada directs at TMS Entertainment (Studio 6), with Sayaka Kuwamura on the script, Hechima on character design, and Koji Nakamura on the score. Adapted from Akiko Abe’s Orange Bunko mystery-romance novel, the story follows a guarded transfer student and a girl who claims she arrived from 1974 on a remote island’s “spirit cove.” After the July 4 AX preview drew early overseas eyes, this package is the clearest look yet at the film’s bittersweet summer tone.
