Doraemon and Nobita used a pair of special shoes that let them jump into the worlds of whichever books they desired. Nobita let Shizuka borrow the shoes so she could enter the world of a book she wanted to explore. Shizuka became lost in Nobita's copy of Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas. After Nobita's mother burned all of his books, Doraemon and the others had to find another way to rescue Shizuka.

The narrative follows Maria, who leaves her convent life behind to take on the responsibility of caring for Captain Trapp's children, based on the same source material that inspired the classic musical 'The Sound of Music'.

In "Psychic Wars," surgeon Ukyo Rettsu handles an unusual case: an elderly patient whose apparent cancer is actually a message from ancient Japan, warning of an imminent demonic invasion of Earth. To stop this threat, Ukyo travels through time to confront the ancient demon race.

In "Brave of the Sun Fighbird," Earth comes under attack from an alien menace called Dryus. Fighbird, the leader of the Space Patrol, chases Dryus to our planet. Once he arrives, Fighbird combines with an android Dr. Amano is developing, taking on the human form of Hidori Ryutaro so he can fight Dryus and safeguard Earth's tranquility. Hidori comes across as an ordinary person, but his behavior sometimes reveals his extraterrestrial origins. He works as Dr. Amano’s assistant, presenting a disheveled look, frequently clad in a white lab coat and glasses. However, his attitude shifts dramatically whenever he faces enemies.

Inheriting from the classic Wizardry game, The Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, the story follows a group of adventurers who enter a dungeon to stop a powerful wizard's quest for absolute power. Along the way, they encounter new companions, each burdened by personal conflicts that become linked with the main objective.

Though she recovers and enrolls at the school, Chitose finds its poor surroundings completely unfamiliar and repulsive.

Patricia and Isobelle O'Sullivan arrive at St. Claire, a college for girls, to begin their studies and settle into their new home. There, they meet Alison, Wella, Catherine, and Doris, who also reside at St. Claire, and the group quickly bonds in team spirit. Together, the girls enjoy games and long periods of fun, living in harmony until Winfred appears. A sulky, rude, and antisocial girl, Winfred has no doubt about creating all kinds of trouble for the O'Sullivan twins and their friends.

Shakotan★Boogie brings to the screen a manga series that originally appeared in Young Magazine back in 1985, penned by Michiharu Kusunoki—the same creator behind Lullaby for Wednesday's Cinderella. The story revolves around young women, gangs, and cars, specifically following a crew of local troublemakers who boost vehicles, swap out their license plates, and then pit them against rival gangs in races before ultimately selling them off. The storyline continues from the conclusion of the 1987 live-action film that starred Kazuya Kimura.

The bungling aliens continue scheming to take over Earth, with only the gigantic feminine robot ARIEL standing in their way. After a giant Cyclops chases Justin and a three-headed sea serpent attacks his ship, Justin nearly drowns, but Marina rescues him. She then strikes a bargain with the sea witch Hedwig to become human for a short time, hoping to win Justin’s love. As Marina and Justin grow closer, Justin mistakenly believes Princess Cecily, a human princess, saved him and agrees to marry her. Later, Justin remembers that Marina was his real savior, but by then she has turned back into a mermaid. They continue meeting in secret, searching for a way to be together while fighting Hedwig’s plan to take over the kingdom and Cecily’s efforts to force the wedding. Their aquatic friends—Winnie the seahorse, Bobo the tropical fish, and Ridley the sea otter—along with the wizard Anselm and Justin’s page, Chauncey, help them.

The 1991 date is somewhat deceptive. The Symphonic Poem actually originates from the music Isao Tomita composed for Jungle Emperor in 1965. He later reworked his score into an extended piece that conveys a narrative on its own. (Composers from the late Romantic era called this musical form a "symphonic poem" or "tone poem.") Thus, music originally meant to support visual storytelling became the storyteller itself. Tomita's symphonic poem was recorded in the mid-1960s and released as an LP in Japan, with multiple reissues over time. It has also appeared on CD on more than one occasion. In 1991, Tezuka Productions reversed the process by producing new animation to accompany the symphonic poem. The plot largely follows the first episode of Kimba. It depicts the peaceful animal kingdom under Panja, the arrival of hunters, Eliza's capture, and Panja's death. Kimba is born and manages to escape back to Africa. All of this unfolds without a single spoken word. The animation style of the Symphonic Poem is distinctive, heavily inspired by the 1989 TV series, though Kimba appears different from any other production.

Dr. Matsugorou, a malevolent scientist, plans to take over the world using an army of robots. The last chance to stop him lies with three brothers who band together as the Emergency Departure Rescue Kids.

In a peculiar fusion of samurai cinema and Shonan-style biker action, Tokyo street punk Masao acquires a prized FZR "katana" motorcycle. Transforming into a knight of the road, Masao wages war on criminals wielding a real katana sword. This story is adapted from the manga by Shinichi Sugimura in Young Magazine.
