In the series "Mahou no Mako-chan," the protagonist Mako is a young siren and sea princess who saves the young athlete Akira from a storm-caused shipwreck and starts to fall for him. With help from the Witch of the Sea, she transforms into a human and enrolls as a high school student. She uses her enchanted pendant, called the "Tear of the Mermaid," to aid others, driven by her strong sense of love and justice.

A prideful karate master, Tadashi Sawamura, steps into the kickboxing arena to prove his art's dominance but is knocked unconscious and left in a coma by a fighter practicing the new discipline. Once he recovers, his trainer Endo persuades him to take up kickboxing training so he can restore his honor. The story draws loosely from the real-life career of champion kickboxer Tadashi Sawamura.

The Japanese team has been chosen to participate in the World Junior Championships. Kozue, Midori, Kakinouchi, and the rest of the all-Japan squad, guided by coach Inokuma, push themselves through intense training before heading to New York, where the world's strongest players are waiting. In the initial round, the team is quickly overpowered by the remarkable endurance of the American players, but they manage to get through. Now the final match is here. To counter the spikes of the Soviet team, Kozue and her teammates devise a secret strategy. Where will victory shine? The moment of the decisive battle is drawing near.

The comedy centers around a rural boy who ventures into the city to pursue his judo training. He encounters the daughter of a well-known dojo and her judo-savvy cat. Each episode features two separate tales.

Norakuro, a black dog, serves as a private second-class in the "Mokenrentai" (Fierce Dog Brigade), an imperial canine military unit that fights against the Monkey Army. Being a stray dog with black-and-white coat in a regiment composed entirely of white dogs, he often blunders his way through missions. The story largely follows the original manga but adds the character of army nurse Miko, for whom Norakuro develops romantic feelings. In this adaptation, Norakuro is voiced by Nobuyo Ooyama, who later gained fame as the voice of Doraemon.

The story centers on a naive teenager from the countryside who dreams of reaching the renowned high school baseball tournament at Koshien. The series is composed of ten-minute episodes airing from Monday through Saturday.

This slice-of-life series is adapted from a 1966 manga by Hasegawa Machiko, the creator of Sazae-san, and revolves around a cantankerous elderly woman whose constant blunders and endless griping create upheaval for her neighbors.
