Laara Sadiq is an award-winning Canadian actress of Pakistani descent known for her appearances in numerous science fiction television series and films, including Battlestar Galactica, Kyle XY, Dark Angel, and The Outer Limits. She portrayed Technician Laura Davis in Stargate SG-1. Throughout her career, Sadiq has received significant recognition, beginning with the 1994 Sam Payne Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Her accolades include the 2004 Jessie Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role: Large Theatre for her role as Chandni in the Arts Club Theatre production of The Matka King. In 2010, she was honored with a Leo Award for Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Feature Length Drama for her role as Hayaam in Excited, as well as a Jessie Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role: Small Theatre for her portrayal of Nehrjas Al-Saffarh in Touchstone Theatre, Felix Culpa and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades productions of Palace of the End. She continued her success by receiving the 2017 Jessie Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role: Large Theatre for her role as Jamuna in the Touchstone Theatre production of Brothel #9.
