Mário Alves Vilela (August 12, 1923 – December 1, 2005) was a Brazilian dubbing artist known for voicing several memorable characters. His most iconic role was undoubtedly Seu Barriga in the series El Chavo, where he also provided the distorted voice for Nhonho, the son of Seu Barriga. Vilela began his career at AIC, taking on minor roles in various series produced there. On September 11, 2003, he met Edgar Vivar, the Mexican actor who portrayed the original Seu Barriga, during an interview on Sônia Abraão's program on SBT. Vilela passed away from cardiac arrest on Thursday, December 1, 2005, in São Paulo, following a prolonged battle with diabetes.
