In the present day, science continues to advance at an unprecedented rate. Yet hidden in the shadows of our world exist supernatural beings known only to a select few. These entities are referred to as "Strangenesses." Naturally, there are those who take on the task of eliminating them—shrine maidens, monks, and various other spiritual practitioners. Among them, however, stands a man who is entirely unlike the rest. Minato Kujou is a cynical and sharp-tongued young man who possesses no spiritual abilities whatsoever.
