Following her father's accumulation of a six million yen debt, sixteen-year-old high schooler Fumi Oono and her father are evicted from their home. Needing both a place to stay and an income, Fumi accepts a live-in housekeeper position at the residence of young writer Akatsuki Kibikino. Their first meeting is strained, as Akatsuki dismisses Fumi as incompetent and treats her like a child. Driven by a desire to settle her father's debt, Fumi persists and works hard to prove her worth. Over time, despite his harsh demeanor and enigmatic personality, Fumi begins to see past Akatsuki's rough exterior, revealing a passionate and kind individual.
