In "Boys Run the Riot," Ryou Watari, a boy whose body was designated female at birth, struggles through life feeling misunderstood and isolated because of his gender identity. Hiding his true self, Ryou secretly buys boys' clothing and keeps a buzzcut to match how he really sees himself. The arrival of Jin Satou at Ryou's school marks a turning point. Jin, who is confident, unafraid, and authentic to himself, earns Ryou's admiration rather than jealousy. After Jin spots Ryou shopping at a men's clothing store, he suggests they launch their own clothing brand. Facing fear and uncertainty, Ryou opens up and tells Jin his whole story. To his surprise, Jin fully accepts him. Encouraged and backed by this new friendship and partnership, Ryou agrees to move forward with their business idea. Alongside a photographer and a group of others who share their vision, the pair plans to reshape fashion and make an impact on the world, one step at a time.
