After the war ended, the city became home to numerous "Extends"—individuals whose bodies were transformed into living weapons. Inui Juuzou is one such Extend, having lost all recollection of his previous existence, and now lives with a head that resembles a firearm. Unlike other Extends, his gun can only fire when someone stands behind him. Juuzou makes a living by handling matters related to other Extends, frequently assisted by Mary, a sharp-witted young woman he takes under his wing as a mentor.
