In a future where medical nanotechnology and an emphasis on social welfare and mutual support have produced a utopia, three young girls rebel against the suffocating benevolence and advanced medical procedures by attempting to starve themselves. Their plan fails, but one of them, Tuan Kirie, later joins the World Health Organization. When a crisis threatens this peaceful world, Tuan reunites with another former pact member, and together they must work to protect the planet from dangers within.
