Nijinskii Guuwa

This is not a biography of Vaslav Nijinsky, but the essence of Nijinsky's dancing as conveyed through her characters Lucifer and Jean. Lucifer was a ballet prodigy, "a creature of God" who, like the actual Nijinsky, wanted to dance as though his soul were "connected to God." Jean, already a critically acclaimed ballet choreographer when he met Lucifer, was still in search of a soul who could realize his vision and the perfection he demanded from his ballet. When he was not dancing, Lucifer showed his natural shyness and introverted personality; Jean, meanwhile, was a solitary genius whose artistic ideas always required a higher degree of understanding and appreciation from other people.
