Azuma Akari, a young man who dreams of becoming a chef, stumbles into another world after tripping. He is taken in by Gangreve, the leader of a mercenary group. Akari starts working odd jobs for the group and steadily raises his own worth by showcasing his cooking abilities. Each leader of the mercenary group has a unique personality, but Akari bonds with them through his food. By improving the group's meals and occasionally aiding with inventions, Akari gradually earns recognition from his fellow mercenaries. However, Akari remains unaware that he himself is destined to become a hero.
