Takeshi Nanase lives an ordinary high school life, though his past carries some painful memories. He appears diligent, but his efforts stem more from a wish to blend in than true commitment. His relationship with childhood friend Isoshima Kurumi remains unclear, as do many aspects of his personal life. Everything changes when he finds a girl in an unfamiliar uniform lying unconscious on school grounds. That girl, Aiba Mui, is a magic user and reveals that she has accidentally turned Takeshi into one as well. Her arrival marks the beginning of a series of strange events for him.
