A 42-year-old businessman named Takahiko Ago winds up in an alternate version of modern Japan. In this world, a sport called "D-sport" has become massively popular—one where killing is treated as perfectly acceptable conduct. The loser is killed instantly, and anyone who breaks the rules is also killed on the spot. Gogo has no idea that he will soon be forced to compete in such an outrageous sport. The first event is the "D500m run," and this absurd athletic meet is about to begin. The guiding principle seems to be: "We will kill each other fair and square, in good sportsmanship!"
