A young girl begins experiencing intense dreams, waking up in a room that looks just like her own reality. Inside, she finds many doors that lead into different dream worlds. These worlds range from calm and beautiful to terrifying and nightmarish. By collecting special items called "Effects," she unlocks access to new areas and continues her aimless wandering through the dream realm. After waking from each dream, she writes down her experiences in a journal before falling asleep again. As she tries to understand what these dreams mean, she starts to suspect she might not be traveling through her subconscious alone—someone seems to be watching both her and the dreams she enters.
