Tsubasa Shiina, a shy fourth-grader, moves to Hokkaido with her father. She struggles to make friends at her new school. Her father, worried but busy with work, often fails to balance his duties, even showing up late for a Parent-Teacher meeting. One evening, Tsubasa sees something strange falling from the sky, possibly a spacecraft. It crashes into the nearby forest. When she investigates, she finds an injured alien inside the wreckage. Suddenly, a monstrous creature appears and attacks Tsubasa. In a confusing turn of events, she spontaneously transforms into "Figure," wielding extraordinary powers she does not understand. Despite her confusion and fear, she defeats the beast. After the battle, Tsubasa meets another girl who looks just like her, named Hikaru.
