According to legend, divine beings called Seraphim exist, and their invisible influence shapes the world. Those who are able to communicate with these entities are known as "Shepherds." Among them, the purest-hearted can draw upon the power of a Seraphim. While some see these strong Shepherds as role models, others are wary of them and label them demons. Sorey, a human boy raised in the Divine Forest—a haven where humans and Seraphim live in peace—often spends his time exploring an old ruin close to his home. His curiosity about the Seraphim and their history drives him, and he is usually joined by his Seraphim friend, Mikleo. During one such expedition, Sorey, Mikleo, and Alisha—a young knight investigating a series of recent natural disasters—get caught in a collapse. After they find a potential connection between the Seraphim and these catastrophes, Sorey decides to leave his familiar home alongside Alisha to uncover the truth behind the events.
