In the twenty-first century, Earth is home to both humans and extraterrestrials. In the calm town of Enohana, Chigasaki Mayuko, a student from a financially struggling family, ends up cohabitating with a NieA, an alien from the low-ranking "Under Seven" class. This alien shows little concern for the outcomes of their actions, a trait that sharply contrasts with Mayuko's own diligent nature. As the two adjust to their unusual living arrangement, the alien mothership still hovering above hints at deeper secrets waiting to be discovered.
