Ryouta Sakamoto lives an average NEET existence but stands out as a top-tier player in the virtual battle game Btooom!, holding the 10th place worldwide. His triumph doesn't last, though—he suddenly awakens on a strange, deserted island, cut off from his former life. Ryouta soon realizes that a malicious force has brought him, along with others like the alluring blonde Himiko and real estate agent Kiyoshi Taira, into a deadly real-life version of Btooom!. The bombs they use are now genuine explosives that can inflict severe or fatal wounds. To endure this brutal contest and locate an escape from the island, Ryouta must rely on his bravery and resolve to outlive and overcome seven other participants.
