In "Last Quarter," high school student Mizuki Mochizuki is deeply infatuated with British rock star Adam Lang. However, Adam is unable to return her feelings due to his ongoing sorrow over his late girlfriend, Sayaka Kamijou. One day, Adam calls Mizuki and asks her to leave Tokyo with him, prompting her to hurry to their meeting place. Tragically, Mizuki is struck by a vehicle before she can reach Adam and fails to make it to their rendezvous. A month later, an old mansion where Mizuki and Adam once stayed for two weeks is now inhabited by a girl who resembles Mizuki. Fifth-grader Hotaru Shiraishi, while searching for her lost cat, encounters this girl, who has no memory of her past, including her own identity. The only recollection she holds is a desire to be reunited with someone named "Adam," leading Hotaru to call her "Eve." With the help of her friends Sae Kayama and classmates Tetsu Sugisaki and Masaki Miura, Hotaru attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding Eve, though her companions claim they cannot see Eve at all.
