When it gains popularity, he realizes his hero, Billy Bat, already appeared in a Japanese comic before. Concerned he may have unconsciously copied art from his time in Japan, Kevin travels there to locate the original artist and ask for permission to keep using the character. While investigating Billy Bat's real origins, Kevin uncovers a disturbing chain of murders connected to the character he believed he invented.
