Portgas D. Ace begins his pirate journey by leaving Dawn Island, only to end up stranded on a remote, barren island. There, he encounters a mysterious person who forms a connection with him and becomes his companion. Determined to escape the island, the two decide to build a boat together. However, the island's limited food supply places a deadline on their efforts, creating friction between them. The unexpected discovery of an unusual fruit may provide the opportunity they need to get away, and they vow to sail the Grand Line together if they succeed. Included are additional one-shots: Volume 1: Roronoa Zoro, Umi ni Chiru (Zoro Overboard) and Volume 2: Nami vs. Kalifa.
