Shimano, a hardworking and good-looking young man who is set to inherit his father's company, feels that his life is nearly perfect. His only source of dissatisfaction comes from starting at the bottom of the corporate hierarchy and dealing with a strained relationship with his supervisor, Kurokawa. Although competent, Kurokawa is often indifferent and frequently calls out Shimano—whether by pushing him to do better or by fixing his mistakes—which deeply annoys Shimano. Because of this, Shimano thinks little of Kurokawa. Yet, after finding out about Kurokawa's less-than-ideal personal circumstances, Shimano begins to feel compassion. With this new perspective, how can he keep resenting someone he now understands?
