In the flawless city of No. 6, Shion lives an easy life as an exceptional student, enjoying tranquility and a bright future since the age of two. But on his twelfth birthday, everything changes. A boy around Shion’s age, injured and desperate, appears at his window and threatens him. Despite the danger, Shion chooses to help the stranger instead of reporting him. The hurt youth, Nezumi, reveals that the city's perfection is a lie. By morning, Nezumi vanishes, and Shion along with his mother lose their elite status because of this incident. Four years later, shocking incidents shake Shion’s trust in the city's rulers. When Shion is falsely blamed for these events, Nezumi returns and saves him from prison. Now branded as fugitives, Shion and Nezumi flee the city to seek the truth behind No. 6’s illusion of perfection.

No.6 was published in English by Kodansha Comics USA from June 11, 2013, to October 21, 2014. The publisher later released the series in 3-in-1 omnibus volumes.
