In "Bad Teacher's Equation," Arisawa Atsushi transfers to Jougaouka High School to be close to Shibata Masami, his longtime crush whom he affectionately calls Ma-chan. Unaware that Masami has left the school, Atsushi mistakes Masami's brother, Masayoshi, who now works as the school nurse, for his former love. He is taken aback by what seems like a complete change in Ma-chan's personality. Compounding his misery, his friend Inagaki Kouji, who has strong feelings for him, keeps trying to kiss him, making Atsushi's time at Jougaouka unbearable. Over time, though, Atsushi starts seeing the new Ma-chan in a better light and even feels himself attracted to this version. His emotions evolve until he uncovers the truth—that this Ma-chan is actually Masayoshi, not Masami.
