In 184 A.D. China, an era fraught with chaos, a wandering young man named Zhang Fei comes across a village that has been slaughtered and meets the volunteer army led by Liu Bei. He joins them just in time to assist in defending a fortified city. However, while trying to rescue a little girl, he is hit by an arrow and thrown from a cliff. Rescued by two sorcerers, he is brought back to life and granted immense powers. Yet the cost may demand his very soul.
