Sakuragi Ryo believes the social order of every high school can be divided into three distinct tiers. Those in the "A" group are its finest—the most handsome, the brightest, and the most athletic. The "B" group is made up of perfectly ordinary students, while the "C" group is virtually invisible to the rest of the school. Despite having no say in the matter, Ryo was shoved into the "A" tier back in middle school, spending those years living a life he never chose. Now that he's entering high school, he's determined to stay out of the spotlight and carve out a comfortable spot for himself among the "B" group. All he wants is a quiet, uneventful school life. One evening after class, however, he stumbles upon three delinquents cornering a girl. He'd much rather keep walking, but the girl is clearly in desperate trouble, and leaving her behind isn't an option. The girl he ends up saving turns out to be the most beautiful girl in his new high school, and she becomes set on repaying him for what he did. Now Ryo has to do everything he can to avoid drawing the school's attention—or risk losing his place in the "B" ranks forever.
