While volunteering in Nepal, Korean medical student Sangmin Han meets Sita, a former Kumari—a girl once worshipped as a living goddess—who was later shunned by society. Despite her painful history, they fall deeply in love, marry, and move to Korea, but their happiness is cut short when Sita dies just one year into their marriage. Crushed by Sita's loss, Sangmin desperately pleads with the gods for her return. His wish is fulfilled, but at a terrible cost. Waking up back in Nepal, Sangmin finds his body has aged dramatically, while a young Sita stands before him with no memory of him. This story of two lovers bound by a complicated fate tells of Sita's childhood as a Kumari and Sangmin's tireless fight to alter her tragic destiny.
