In 1903, at the all-male Catholic S. Sebastian Music Institute in Regensburg, Germany, a rumor endures about a tower window known as the Window of Orpheus. The legend claims that anyone who sees a beautiful girl through this window will fall hopelessly in love, but that love will inevitably bring tragedy, just like the ancient Greek story of Orpheus and Eurydice. When two students, Klaus and Isaac, catch a glimpse of a girl through the window, they fail to realize the figure is actually their classmate Julius, who has been raised as a boy. This mistaken impression sets in motion a chain of events that profoundly changes their fates.
