Sanzoku Diary is written and features Okamoto Kentarou as the main character. Growing up in the countryside, he developed a connection with a skilled hunter during his childhood. In 2009, he moved from Tokyo to Okayama Prefecture with the goal of starting hunting. Using an air rifle and various traps, he pursues, prepares, and eats a variety of wild animals. The manga provides a thorough description of his hunting experiences.
