SEES, or the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, appears to be an ordinary club at Gekkoukan High School, but its true purpose is investigating a strange phenomenon called the "Dark Hour" and fighting creatures known as "Shadows." Only those with hidden potential can perceive the Dark Hour; others transform into coffins and risk developing Apathy Syndrome, a condition that leaves them in a trance and drains their will to live. Minato Arisato, a new transfer student, is one such individual. He retains memories of the Dark Hour without realizing his special ability. At school, he encounters a mysterious figure who asks him to sign a contract accepting personal responsibility. Soon after, SEES begins secretly monitoring him, sensing his immense potential that exceeds their own. One night, a Shadow attacks their dormitory during the Dark Hour, and Yukari Takeba wakes Minato to warn him. Driven by a strong urge to fight, Minato takes Yukari's gun, but instead of shooting the Shadow, he points it at himself, thereby awakening his "Persona." Empowered with this new ability, Minato joins SEES and sets out to uncover the secrets behind the mysterious Dark Hour.

Persona 3 is based on the PS2 game by Atlus of the same title. The series was published in English by Udon Entertainment from October 4, 2016 to October 29, 2019. It has also been published in Spanish by ECC Ediciones since June 26, 2019.
