Mahjong, a game typically played among loved ones for fun, also flourishes in the darkest corners of society. Nangou, a gambling addict, is drowning in over three million yen in debt. In a desperate attempt to clear what he owes, he puts his life on the line in a mahjong match against the mafia. As the game progresses, Nangou's chances of winning shrink, and his doom seems inevitable. Just as all hope is lost, Shigeru Akagi, a young boy fleeing from the police, stumbles into the game parlor. Seeing this as a chance to change his fortune, Nangou quickly passes the game to Akagi, giving him a quick explanation of the rules. The mafia initially laughs at Akagi's appearance, but their amusement fades when they realize they are up against a prodigious gambler—a fearless individual destined for legendary status.
