Uka Ishimori endured relentless bullying throughout middle school, earning her the nickname "Rocky" for her tendency to freeze up around others. Entering high school, she longs for a fresh start and a chance to grow. But her first week takes an unexpected turn when Kai Miura, a popular and charismatic student with lemon-hued hair, accidentally spills juice on her. Despite their stark differences—Kai exudes confidence and popularity while Uka struggles with social anxiety—he begins encouraging her to open up, offering support when no one else does. Initially hoping just to make friends, Uka finds herself developing deeper feelings for Kai. The encounter that started with a lemon soda is set to profoundly change both of their lives.

Honey Lemon Soda was nominated for the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards in the shoujo category in 2021. In the same year, the manga ranked 40th on Da Vinci magazine's "Book of the Year" list. The series has been published in English by Yen Press since January 17, 2023. Honey Lemon Soda was adapted into a Japanese live-action movie that premiered on July 9, 2021.
